Your beauty and love chase after me every day of my life.

Your beauty and love chase after me every day of my life. I’m back home in the house of GOD for the rest of my life. (‭Psalm‬ ‭23‬:‭6‬ MSG)

There is no place I can go where God does not see me or want to be with me.  You love me so much that you chase after me…. You pursue me ….you’re with me.  I can’t go anywhere where I don’t see a glimpse of You, God. You’re everywhere in the deep blue sky, the colourful flowers, the White fluffy clouds, the endless mountains, the singing birds, the lush green grass, the towering trees waving in the wind, the thundering storm, the crashing waves on white sandy beaches.  Creation is your beauty and your beauty is everywhere.  You pursue me oh God, your love is with me, your goodness is mine.

In your presence, at home with you is where I find my peace and the greatest joy.  You surround me. You uphold me.  My soul sings because I am your child and you are my God.  You are the lover of my soul…. Sweet perfume rising….. Let your glory fall Father…that I may dwell with you God in this place forever.  Open up heavens door oh God, so that your will would be done on earth just as it is in heaven.

You hem me in behind and before.  You are there, every which way I turn, your persistent love reaches out to me.  You love me like a closest friend, spending time with me on the couch, chatting with me through all the things of life. You laugh with me, you share my secrets.  God, you love me like a bridegroom loves his bride on her wedding day!  I am your bride…..I am beautiful in your eyes. I am your child, I am your Princess, I am your daughter.  You are my Father…..watching over me like a Daddy.  Encouraging, teaching, guiding, leading….you shower your love constantly…… How awesome you are to me.

Show me how to love you, God the way you do.  I so desperately need you to lead me on this path God.  I need you ….every hour of every day, I need to feel your Spirit in me.  And God as I grasp the intense hugeness of your unfailing love, may it flow from my life like a river running its course to your people, to the nation, to the lost, to the lonely.

Oh how I love you!

“In prayer there is a connection between what God does and what you do.” (‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭14 MSG)

Be thankful in all circumstances

1 Thessalonians 5:18

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

What does God want from us?  To give thanks!  It’s so simple.  This IS his WILL for us!  Thank Him!  How do we do that when life seems so tough and the road we are travelling on seems to be so endlessly long.  When you’re working yourself to death to makes ends meet and feel like there is no light at the end of the tunnel.  When you’ve lost a loved one and the pain seems so unbearable.  When you’ve been told that you are sick and that there is no cure.  How are you able to “Thank Him” in these circumstances?

When the road seems long and endlessGod this road is long and hard…….

God never said life would be easy.  There will always be good times and bad times.  There is a season for everything and yet He still tells us to be give thanks in all these situations.  Ok, so we are not thanking Him that our car has broken or that our marriage is on the rocks.  No, but we can thank Him that we have a car and that we have a marriage partner.  What He wants us to do is thank Him for what we HAVE and when we do that, our eyes are lifted from the bleak situation and focused on Him.  Somehow through the thanks, He allows us to see (even if it’s in the far distance) what He can do in and through us and then we realize that all things are possible.

Take a moment and think about what you have to be thankful for today?  Your home, your job, your car, your children, your husband/wife, your family, your friends, the food in your fridge, your health, your abilities and giftings, for people who care about you and a loving, caring, Heavenly Father that gave up His Son, so that you can have an intimate and personal relationship with Him… forever!  It you can’t thank Him for anything else, then thank Him that His grace and mercy are new every day and that each day He gives you, is another chance to get to know Him and to live a life filled with a purpose and a passion, filled with love overflowing.

“Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good.  His love endures forever” Psalm 136.

Jesus and me… and a cup of tea !!

Tea on sofa

It’s early ish morning in our household.  We are not early risers.  Does God care what time it is? No, it doesn’t matter to him because He is outside of time anyway.  The sun is pushing through the clouds, the birds are singing, the house is quiet and my brain is still waking up.  I’ve made a cup of tea and let the dog out and I settle down on the sofa to allow myself time to surface, when hey Presto!  The penny finally drops and I’ve realized an insurmountable truth.  Could this be that I have finally found a favourite time to spend with God?  Jesus and me on the sofa, with a cup of tea!  Sipping my brew and chatting with my favourite friend and brother – nothing can beat that.  How many times have we all sat on the sofa or strolled outside or even stood in the kitchen taking a 5-10 minute break and just zoned out?  I realized that this is the one time in my day when nothing else fills my mind and I can concentrate only on Jesus, hence why it is morning and I know that before my day even starts with any problems, my Daddy God has got the problem in His hands (and it’s sorted by the way).  Worship floods through my head and I can close my eyes and enjoy a sweet, precious moment or ten with Pappa.  He is well pleased to be first on the list of “things to do”.  I always used to battle with the “time of day” I spent with God, but as the years have gone on, I’ve realized that my Daddy is just pleased to meet with me-any time, any place, anywhere.  The fact that I have a quiet moment today or a hectic schedule tomorrow doesn’t change that He loves to spend time with me and lavish His love on me.  And finally I am not wrought with the guilt of “have I spent enough time” or “any time” with Jesus today.

All day, every hour, every minute, every second-just any time is the right time that I can talk to Jesus in prayer, chat with Him, laugh with Him, cry with Him, push into Him.  He never said you had to be in a certain place on your knees at a certain time.  He is a creative God and we are uniquely made by Him.  We are all different and do things in different ways.  Don’t let the enemy make you feel guilty about how much time you spend with Him or that you didn’t set aside time first thing in the morning.  Allow your Pappa to meet with you anytime…. and treasure each second that you have to spend with Him because He loves you.

May you find blessing in the freedom you find in catching some quality moments with Jesus and your cup of tea.

A promise

Psalm 91 – The Message (MSG)

91 1-13 You who sit down in the High God’s presence,
spend the night in Shaddai’s shadow,
Say this: “God, you’re my refuge.
I trust in you and I’m safe!”
That’s right—he rescues you from hidden traps,
    shields you from deadly hazards.
His huge outstretched arms protect you—
    under them you’re perfectly safe;
his arms fend off all harm.
Fear nothing—not wild wolves in the night,
not flying arrows in the day,
Not disease that prowls through the darkness,
not disaster that erupts at high noon.
Even though others succumb all around,
drop like flies right and left,
no harm will even graze you.
You’ll stand untouched, watch it all from a distance,
watch the wicked turn into corpses.
Yes, because God’s your refuge,
the High God your very own home,
Evil can’t get close to you,
harm can’t get through the door.
He ordered his angels
to guard you wherever you go.
If you stumble, they’ll catch you;
their job is to keep you from falling.
You’ll walk unharmed among lions and snakes,
and kick young lions and serpents from the path.

14-16 “If you’ll hold on to me for dear life,” says God,
“I’ll get you out of any trouble.
I’ll give you the best of care
if you’ll only get to know and trust me.
Call me and I’ll answer, be at your side in bad times;
I’ll rescue you, then throw you a party.
I’ll give you a long life,
give you a long drink of salvation!”

This morning I read Psalm 91.  Now this isn’t the first time I’ve read this Psalm and I’m sure somewhere in my distant past, God might have revealed something to me about this specific scripture, but today it suddenly struck me just how very much God promises us in this Psalm.

I don’t know about you, but certainly for me I am often fearful of “stuff” that can happen in my life.  This can be anything from how people might receive me and treat me, or what they might say about me, who might break into my home and hurt me and my family.  Fear of someone who would sow bad seed into my life because they don’t like me or the Jesus they see in me, people who rob from my soul and spirit by their bad attitudes and their feelings of insecurity, fear of general harm coming to me, and the fear of getting sick or having a terminal illness.

Today, God must have shined the brightest light on His word for me to grasp and suddenly the lightbulb went on.  I read the scripture again and again and I would encourage you to do the same today until it sinks in and you get it.  He has promised that “He has ordered His angels to guard us wherever we go”.  Not just sometimes, it’s not subject to anything.  All we have to do is put our trust in Him.  Today He is asking you to hold onto Him, get to know Him and trust Him.  Then when that fear comes to face us and the enemy tries to bring us down, we will be prepared and waiting and can call out to Him.  He will be right there with you to help you and rescue you.  Not a maybe…. but truth and promise!

WOW.  I’m in awe of how much He loves us.

Love in Jesus,

Dancing in fields of flowers

I’ve always imagined myself  dancing and twirling, singing and praising God in the midst of a field of flowers.  It thrills my heart to know that my God created such awesome beauty and splendour and we are the keepers of all this colour and magnificence.  If this is what our earthly gardens can look like, imagine what God can do with your spiritual garden if you allow Him.

In the beginning…..

Hi all.

So this is the very first time I am blogging and quite frankly, learning how to blog, so please be patient with me as I set this up. I feel like I’m batting in the dark, but I know that, as with all things, you get better as time goes on.

As in the very beginning, God created the heavens and the earth and WOW…. Look what He made! I’m praying that He might inspire and motivate me to be a blessing to others and be blessed by stepping out into the bloggers paradise.

So…. Be patient as I learn and grow. Hope to see you all soon with something great.
